Gourd Artist and Muralist, Missy Miles, works from her studio/gallery (Organic Vesse
ls) in Hamilton Alabama. Her designs on gourds range from the whimsical to the sublime. Missy began her gourd journey in 2005 and has since won numerous awards from juried shows in the Southeast (USA).
In both 2008 and 2009, Miles was awarded the title of Alabama Gourd Queen. Most recently she was awarded Artist Choice at the Jerry Brown Art Festival for the fifth year in a row.
Missy is a member of the American Gourd Society, Alabama Gourd Society, Northwest Alabama Arts Council and the Hamilton Chamber of Commerce. Her murals can be seen in Marion, Fayette, Lamar and Pickens counties (Alabama).
